THE HAGUE 12 April 2021 – J. Eduardo Malaya presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of the Netherlands to King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander in ceremonies held on 07 April 2021 at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.

After the presentation of his letter of credence, Ambassador Malaya and King Willem-Alexander expressed their shared commitment to further strengthen the friendly relations between their two countries and peoples. The Philippines and the Netherlands celebrate this year the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. 

Malaya was until recently Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs. He is also Vice President of the Philippine Society of International Law and the author or editor of nine books, including “Philippine Treaties In Force 2020” published in March by the University of the Philippines Law Center. 

Ambassador Malaya was joined by his wife, Rena Cristina Koa-Malaya, M.D. END
