milan116 May 2014– The Philippine Consulate General in Milan held its mobile consular outreach in Vicenza on May 10. This was the first consular outreach conducted by the Consulate in the Northern Italian region of Veneto this year.

 

During the outreach, Consulate personnel processed 236 applications for passports, notarials and other consular documents.

 

The Filipino community leaders in the region warmly welcomed Philippine Consul General in Milan Marichu Mauro.  Consul General Mauro thanked the leaders for upholding the rotational arrangement on the location for mobile services among the cities of Bassano, Verona, Venice, Trento, Vicenza, Treviso and Padova.  The Consul General also discussed with them further improvements to the Consulate’s services.

 

Consul General Mauro likewise took the opportunity to encourage Filipinos who were availing of consular services to register for the 2016 national elections. A total of 35 new registrants were processed by the end of the day with five requests for change of address.

The Consulate General plans to have three more mobile consular outreach dates in the Veneto region where overseas voters registration will be emphasized alongside consular services. END
