PH Embassy in Yangon Brings Home 31 Filipinos

YANGON 29 June 2021 – The Philippine Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar in cooperation with Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) repatriated 31 stranded Filipinos (16 men and 15 women) including one child to the Philippines on 27 June 2021.

Through the efforts of the Embassy in close coordination with the DFA Office of Migrant Workers' Affairs, the Filipinos were provided one-way airfare from Yangon to Manila. The Embassy provided thirteen Filipinos from Thahtay Kyun Island (660 kilometers from Yangon) with land transportation and accommodation for their night stop in the City of Dawei on their way to Yangon to join the repatriation flight.

This is the nineteenth flight facilitated by the Embassy since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. END
