PH Consulate General, Hong Kong Labour and Immigration Department Facilitate Return of Filipino Residents, Workers to Hong Kong

HONG KONG 09 July 2021 – The Consulate General of the Philippines in Hong Kong and Hong Kong Labor and Immigration authorities successfully concluded the 17th Technical Working Group Meeting on 08 July 2020 at the Hong Kong Labour Department Harbour Building, Central, Hong Kong.

Head of delegation Philippine Deputy Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan discussed labor and immigration issues affecting Filipino nationals in Hong Kong and the stranded residents and workers in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both sides agreed that the return of Filipino residents and workers to Hong Kong was necessary despite the Philippines’ relegation to Category A1 – Extremely High Risk specified places under Hong Kong’s Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation (Cap. 599H). END
