BAGHDAD 13 August 2021 — Philippine Ambassador to Iraq Generoso D.G. Calonge visited Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region of Iraq on 05-06 August 2021. During the visit, he called on Kurdistan Regional Government Vice President Jaaf Sheikh Mustafa, Sulaymaniyah Governor Dr. Haval Abubaker, Sulaymaniyah Center District Director Mr. Awat Muhammad Gafur, and Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Head Mr. Sirwan Muhammad.

He was accompanied by Philippine Honorary Consul-Designate Falah Anwar Karur during the meetings with officials of Sulaymaniyah. Ambassador Calonge discussed with the officials mutual concerns on the threat of terrorism affecting national security, economic interests and the welfare of Filipinos living in Sulaymaniyah. He also met with members of the Filipino community who availed themselves of consular services. END
