22 May 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou conducted a consular outreach mission at Shekou, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province on May 18. The outreach was organized in coordination with the core members of the Shenzhen-based Filipino community organization, Barangay China.

During the consular outreach, a total of 26 Filipinos registered as overseas voters and 28   applied for passport renewal. Eighteen (18) requests for NBI clearance were processed and eight assistance-to-nationals (ATN) clients were served.

The 65 Filipinos working and residing in Shekou, Futian, Nanshan and nearby districts actively participated in the seminar on benefits of Pag-IBIG Fund membership conducted by Mr. Raymond Francis L. Ramos, Information Officer of the Hong Kong SAR International Operations Group.

The Filipino community expressed their appreciation for the continued assistance and extension of consular services by the Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou to the Filipinos based in Shenzhen.  END
