OTTAWA, 23 August 2021 – Ambassador Rodolfo Robles hosted a reception on 19 August 2021 celebrating the 143rd birthday of former President Manuel L. Quezon and the Anniversary of the Ombudsman. The event took place at Sentro Rizal Ottawa of the Philippine Embassy Chancery.
The event was attended by officials from Global Affairs Canada led by Assistant Deputy Minister Paul Thoppil and diplomats from Asia-Pacific resident embassies in Ottawa.
Ombudsman Samuel Martires delivered a pre-recorded message, highlighting the mandate of the Office of the Ombudsman and its recent accomplishments in relation to upholding the rule of law and public accountability in the Philippines. END
