Team Philippines in Turkey Meets with Istanbul Chamber of Commerce President

ISTANBUL 31 August 2021 — Philippine Ambassador-designate to Turkey Maria Elena P. Algabre met with Mr. Sekib Avdagic, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) to discuss potential avenues for closer cooperation and partnership between the ITO and the Philippines, at ITO headquarters in Istanbul on 16 August 2021.

Ambassador-designate Algabre and ITO President Avdagic agreed to explore prospective initiatives aimed towards building stronger links in trade, investment, tourism and education between the Philippines and Turkey.

Ambassador-designate Algabre was joined by Philippine Consul General to Istanbul Arvin R. De Leon and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Marc Theodore P. Benigno of the Philippine Embassy in Ankara.  

The ITO is Europe’s largest business chamber and the fifth largest in the world with over 400,000 members contributing to over half of Turkey’s total export volume. END
