PH Consul General in San Francisco Meets with Alaska State Officials

SAN FRANCISCO 13 September 2021 — Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer called on Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy during the Consulate’s consular outreach mission in Anchorage on 25-28 August 2021.

Consul General Ferrer met with Governor Dunleavy on 26 August 2021 during which they discussed the vibrant Filipino community in Alaska, who make up 32 percent of the immigrant communities in Alaska, and enhancing economic cooperation between the state and the Philippines.   

Consul General Ferrer also met with Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson, and the two discussed areas of cooperation, including possible sister-city arrangements between Anchorage and a Philippine city.

Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in Alaska availed themselves of more than 1,600 consular services during the consular outreach mission in Anchorage, the Consulate’s third in Alaska in 2021 amid the pandemic. END
