XIAMEN 17 September 2021 – Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago L. Sta. Romana led the Philippine delegation to the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held on 08-11 September 2021 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. The Philippines is the Guest Country of Honor for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021.
“The Philippines has always attached importance to ensuring that our presence in CIFIT is a cut above the rest. This has been particularly manifested in our participation in last year’s fair”, Ambassador Sta. Romana said as he welcomed guests and visitors during the opening of the Philippine National Pavilion at CIFIT.
Ambassador Sta. Romana enjoined potential Chinese investors to “take interest in our showcase of the opportunities in the Philippines, particularly the many compelling reasons why the country remains an ideal destination for your investments, and an excellent location for doing business”.
Apart from the establishment of the Philippine National Pavilion, the Philippine Trade and Investment Centers in China (Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou), the Office of the Agriculture Counsellor in Beijing, the Philippine Department of Tourism in Shanghai, and the CIFIT Organizing Committee co-organized various online and offline events to highlight the newly-enacted investor-friendly laws and policies in the Philippines, as well as the country’s current business climate.
The forums were attended by Chinese government officials, experts, and prospective Chinese investors. On its 22nd edition, CIFIT is an annual event held every September in Xiamen. It promotes international trade and investments for the Chinese and overseas market. END
