“Manila Comes To Town” Food Truck Festival in Vancouver

VANCOUVER 20 September 2021 - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver organized a three-day Filipino food truck festival, dubbed, "Manila Comes to Town", from 15 -17 September 2021.
Held on the southside of the 900 block, Canada Place, the festival featured favorite Filipino franchises such as Max's Restaurant and Potato Corner, and Shameless Buns, a Vancouver-based food truck that offers Philippine flavors in exciting, non-traditional creations. The food trucks were open for business from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Ms. Mable Elmore, a Filipino-Canadian Member of the Legislative Assembly of the province of British Columbia, graced the opening ceremony. Other special guests were the Consuls General of Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Switzerland, the United States, and Vietnam, and the Acting Consul General of Thailand.
Vancouver’s Philippine King and Queen of Jazz, Mr. and Mrs. Ed and Salve Dayao, and other Fil-Canadian singers provided entertainment. The event was covered by mainstream OMNI News Filipino Edition, ABS-CBN, and Welnoun Media.
This is the second time that the Consulate has organized "Manila Comes to Town". It was successfully launched in 2019 but had to be shelved last year, due to the COVID-19 health restrictions. END
