PH Consulate General in Macau Conducts 23rd Repatriation Flight, 4,586 Overseas Filipinos Brought Home

MACAU SAR 27 September 2021 – The Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR successfully conducted its 23rd repatriation flight from Macau on 22 September 2021. The Philippine Airlines flight PR8353 carried home 189 overseas Filipinos from Macau. The flight also brought home the remains of one Filipino who died in Macau of non- COVID related causes.
Since March 2020, the Consulate has organized 23 repatriation flights to bring home overseas Filipinos negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 4,586 overseas Filipinos from Macau have since been repatriated and benefited from the Philippine Consulate’s repatriation program.
Philippine Consul General to Macau SAR Porfirio M. Mayo, Jr. led the Consulate’s Team in the repatriation of the overseas Filipinos. Assistance on quarantine, swab testing and transportation was provided to the repatriates by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region III (OWWA Region III) through the coordination of POLO-OWWA Macau.
