XIAMEN 11 October 2021 — The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, with the assistance of a Filipino doctor, Dr. Christopher Hemady, conducted online medical consultations with the 29 stranded Filipino seafarers aboard Hanrong 362, 366 and 369 in Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province amid the continued restrictions on disembarking seafarers in China brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On 08 October 2021, the Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, sent needed medicines and care packages to the stranded seafarers. They will receive the packages on 12 October 2021, when their Chinese handlers will distribute the said goods by boat. END
