JEDDAH 19 October 2021 – Philippine Consul General to Jeddah Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian paid a courtesy call on Mazen bin Hamad Al-Hamali, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Makkah Al-Mukarramah Branch on 17 October 2021.
During the call, Consul General Auxilian thanked Director General Al-Hamali for the Ministry’s unceasing support for the Consulate and the Filipinos in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia, and reiterated its appreciation of the good relations between the Philippine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Just recently, the residents of the Bahay Kalinga and the temporary male shelter of the Consulate received Covid-19 vaccination from the Saudi Ministry of Health, through the assistance of the MOFA.
Director General Al-Hamali reaffirmed his commitment to support the Consulate in whatever way he can, acknowledging the growing number of Filipinos in the Kingdom which is a proof of the sustained positive relationship between the two countries over the years.
The Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia covers seven regions, including Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Madina Al-Munawarrah, Tabuk, Asir, Al Baha, Jizan, and Najran. There are an estimated 218,000 Filipinos in the Western Region of KSA. END
