Philippine Ambassador Isleta Granted Audience with His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden

STOCKHOLM 22 October 2021 – Philippine Ambassador to Sweden Maria Lumen B. Isleta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (AEP) of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Sweden was granted an audience with His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf on 19 October 2021.

The audience with the King is the first personal introduction of the Ambassador to His Majesty since her arrival in Sweden as face to face ceremonies including the presentation of credentials of new Ambassadors had been temporarily suspended since 2020.

The audience with HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Ambassador Isleta, as those of four other foreign Ambassadors on the same day, in successive albeit separate sessions, are all part of the audiences being granted to all Ambassadors who had arrived and assumed their posts in Sweden since 2020, but had failed to personally present their letters of credence to the King.

In their discussions, King Carl XVI Gustaf, among others, warmly welcomed Ambassador Isleta back to Sweden and wished her success in her tour as AEP. END
