BUENOS AIRES, 02 November 2021 - As part of its continuing efforts to promote Philippine tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in partnership with Philippine Tourism Office in Los Angeles, USA, conducted a Tourism Promotion and Activation Event for Argentine tour operators on 29 October 2021 at the newly-acquired Embassy Chancery Building.

Mr. Richmond Patrick Jimenez, Director of the Philippine Tourism Office in Los Angeles, which covers all of Latin America, briefed the participants on the Philippines’ diverse tourism offers, which include spectacular, pristine beaches, culture, meetings and conventions, among others.

This was the first organized physical event held at the new Embassy. During the open forum, tour operators raised several inquiries and conveyed their admiration on how the Philippines was presented as a prime tourist destination in the Asian region. They also expressed their approval of the Philippine cuisine that was served during the event.

As the Philippines gradually moves forward in making strides against COVID-19, and as the government fast tracks the vaccination of tourism workers, Mr. Jimenez expressed confidence that the Philippines could re-open to international travel as early as the first quarter of 2022.END
