COPENHAGEN, 02 November 2021 – The Philippine Embassy in Denmark organized an investment briefing at the Embassy Hall on 27 October 2021. The event was attended by representatives from various Danish companies, investors and government officials. This is one of the initiatives of the Embassy to increase two-way trade in goods and services as well as investments between Denmark and the Philippines.

The event was held in partnership with Andersen Consult and featured two speakers, namely: Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo Herrera-Lim, and Mr. Lars Siggaard Andersen.

Ambassador Herrera-Lim highlighted the Philippines’ investment opportunities, including its increasing appetite for premium products, recovering economy and other positive macroeconomic indicators, a growing middle class and a large and young population. He cited Philippines’ broad access to markets of Asia’s biggest economies given the recent signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement, the world’s largest free trade agreement. He shared opportunities for Denmark to invest in the Philippines, particularly in the business process outsourcing, food and agriculture, and manufacturing.

For their part, several businessmen in attendance expressed interest in entering the Philippine market, particularly in food distribution, biotechnology, cold storage, and those related to mid-trawl fish technology. END
