Philippine Embassy in Kenya Donates Books to Kenya National Library Service
The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi donated a total of 76 Philippine-published books and musical compilation albums to the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) on 29 October 2021, marking its first-ever book donation to a national library in Kenya. Ambassador Alex Chua handed over the donations to KNLS Acting Deputy Director Dr. Charles Nzivo. The Embassy’s donations include the facsimile of the original manuscripts of El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere, Reading the Regions: Teaching the Philippines, Manila: History, Culture, and Heritage, The Journal of History Vol. LXV, Rizal’s True Love, Salvador Bernal: Designing the Stage, A Treasury of Filipino Piano Music, Mumunting Tinig: Children’s Choral Pieces, which were provided by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
