Newly-Appointed PH Honorary Consul in Kigali, Rwanda Takes Oath of Office

NAIROBI, 08 November 2021 – Newly-appointed Philippine Honorary Consul in Kigali, Rwanda Rachel Lynn Vida Pineda took her oath of office before Ambassador Alex Chua at the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi on 05 November 2021.
Ambassador Chua, in his remarks, congratulated Ms. Pineda on her appointment and expressed his hope that, through the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Kigali, the friendly ties between the Philippines and Rwanda will continue to strengthen and the welfare of the Filipinos will be further promoted.
In return, Ms. Pineda pledged to represent to the best of her ability the rights and interests of the Philippines as well as the Filipino citizens in Rwanda.
The Honorary Consul is also responsible for providing consular assistance and services to those distressed within the bounds of her authority and consular jurisdiction. It is also her duty to promote Philippine trade, commerce, industry, investments, culture, agriculture, and tourism in Rwanda.

Ms. Pineda is a registered nurse by profession and has been a resident of Kigali since 2011. She will be of service to at least 100 Filipinos residing and/or working in Rwanda for an initial three-year term from 2021 to 2024. END
