Australian Parliament Recognizes 75th Anniversary of Philippines-Australia Diplomatic Relations
CANBERRA, 24 November 2021 — The Australian Parliament recognized the 75th Anniversary of Philippines-Australia diplomatic relations on 22 November 2021 in Canberra. The motion was moved by Hon Ed Husic MP, Member for Chifley, New South Wales whose electorate has the largest Filipino community in Australia, and supported by many Members of Parliament representing electorates all over Australia.
Members of Parliament paid tribute to wide-ranging contributions of Filipinos in Australia particularly those in critical industries and healthcare, the enduring and historic partnership between the Philippines and Australia, and the shared values between the peoples of the two countries. END
