Annual Economic and Consular Consultation of Philippine Posts in Canada Convened: Sets New Direction

OTTAWA, 01 December 2021 – Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles hosted the annual Economic and Consular Consultation of Philippine Posts in Canada (PPCs) held virtually on 27 and 28 November 2021.
The two-part, two-day Consultation reviewed Post’s accomplishments in 2021 and discussed proposed activities for 2022, including the state of Philippines-Canada trade and investment relations, priority goods and investment sectors for promotion, cooperation in agriculture, and expanding linkages in science & technology, among others The participants also received updates on travel restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, information on forthcoming projects to improve consular and assistance-to-nationals services, and programs to engage the Filipino diaspora across Canada.
Senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs were joined by officials from the Department of Science and Technology, Trade Section of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, the Tourism Representative in New York, the Agriculture Attaché in Washington D.C., the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Commission on Filipinos Overseas, and Social Security System as resource speakers.
PPC is composed of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.END
