Ambassador Robles Congratulates Newly-Elected Filipino-Canadian Member of Parliament  

Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles ( 2^rd from left) hosted lunch on 1 December 2021, in honor of Member of Parliament Rechie Valdez ( 3^rd from right). Valdez was elected in September 2021  to the federal House of Commons, making history as the first female Canadian of Filipino heritage to sit as a federal Member of Parliament.  She is only the second Filipino-Canadian elected to the federal parliament after Dr. Rey Pagtakhan who represented the riding Of Winnipeg North – St. Paul from 1997 to 2004.
