PH Embassy, software giant, NGO host networking event for Filipino IT Group in Denmark

COPENHAGEN 15 December 2021 — Bringing together Filipino IT professionals in Denmark, the Philippine Embassy in Copenhagen co-organized a networking event entitled “Pinoy IT Meetup” at SAP, the largest European software company in enterprise application on 14 December 2021.

Organized in collaboration with the ULAP.org and SAP, the event provides opportunities for Filipino professionals in Denmark to connect and build networks in their industry. A delegation consisting of representatives from a broad range of IT companies and innovation sectors, attended the event.

In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo M. Herrera-Lim encouraged the attendees to become stakeholders in the Embassy’s initiative to generate awareness, respect and cooperation for the Philippines and Filipino community in Denmark. “Your presence here is Denmark’s affirmation of the Philippines' rich pool of talent in IT. Leading Danish companies have recognized us as an IT-BPM outsourcing hub,” said Ambassador Herrera-Lim.

The Filipino IT professionals committed to working with ULAP.org, a Denmark-based NGO which aims to provide scholarship grants to 10,000 passionate young Filipino IT aspirants for cloud fundamentals and specialized careers.

The meetup is part of the Philippine Embassy’s push to connect Filipino professionals in Denmark. It envisions an empowered Filipino IT community able to help bridge the gap between the Philippines’ IT industry’s strengths and the needs of Danish companies. END
