PH Embassy in Canada pushes for credential recognition of Filipino immigrants

OTTAWA, 17 December 2021- In line with the Philippine Embassy in Canada’s advocacy for the recognition of credentials of Filipino immigrants in Canada, Ambassador Rodolfo Robles met separately with British Columbia Labor Minister Harry Bains on 09 December 2021 in Vancouver, and Calgary City Acting Mayor Raj Dhaliwal at the City Hall of Calgary on 7 December 2021.
Ambassador Robles shared with the two officials the highlights of the Credentials Recognition in Canada (CRC) Project being pushed by Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC).
In his meeting with BC Labor Minister Bains, Amb. Robles specifically requested for the provincial government to consider providing financial grants to internationally educated nurses who are interested in obtaining accreditation as registered nurses in British Columbia.
In his discussion with Acting Mayor Dhaliwal of Calgary, Ambassador Robles expressed confidence that PPC and the City of Calgary would be able to collaborate in this advocacy, for which the Acting Mayor expressed his support.
The CRC Project is a major advocacy of Ambassador Robles and is being implemented across Canada by PPC. PPC is composed of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto
He was accompanied in the meeting by Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria, Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III, Deputy Consul General Arlene Magno, and Labor Representative Jainal Rasul, Jr.
