MOSCOW, 22 December 2021 – The Department of Tourism-Frankfurt office and its official partner Access Russia, together with the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, hosted a Filipino breakfast while promoting Philippine tourism at the acclaimed Michelin-starred Biologie Restaurant on 14 December 2021. The breakfast was made possible through DOT’s collaboration with Biologie’s own chef, Ekaterina Alehina, the first female chef in Russia to receive a Michelin.

Using healthy, locally-sourced ingredients, Chef Alehina created several memorable dishes inspired from Philippine classics. The menu included popular Filipino favorites such as shrimp lumpia, pancit, egg and squid kwekwek, calamari adobo, and pancake halo-halo.

Charge d’Affaires Robert Ferrer emphasized the significance of food in Filipino social relationships and business culture. “Filipinos may disagree over many things, but they come together in peace and harmony over a shared meal,” he stated.  He also added that food is an important element in completing any touristic experience in the Philippines.

The event also featured a presentation by representatives of the Aman Resorts hospitality company of the captivating Amanpulo island in Palawan.

Several A-list Russian celebrities graced the event, such as Mary Leest (fashion blogger, TSUM stylist), Julia Kalmanovich (fashion designer), Barbara Shmykova (actress), Danil Radlov (DJ), Irina Starshenbaum (actress), Ekaterina Komolova (celebrity promoter). END
