The head of the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), Executive Director Dr. Theresa Mundita- Lim, was the featured Guest Speaker at the second edition of E-BASS (Embassy-Bangkóta Apex Speaker Series) held recently at the Philippine Bangkóta Pavilion at the World Expo. In her presentation, Dr. Mundita-Lim cited that the Philippines contains two-thirds of the world’s biodiversity and is home to 80% of the world’s plant and animal species. Dr. Lim also explained how the theme of the Philippine pavilion, the Bangkóta (ancient Filipino word for coral reef), aptly highlights the Philippines as the center of biodiversity in the world. The ACB was established in 2005 and its headquarters is in the Philippines. (Abu Dhabi PE photo)
