PH Chargé D’affaires to Libya presents credentials to Tunisian Foreign Affairs Minister

TUNIS 30 November 2021 – Philippine Embassy in Tripoli, Libya, Chargé d’Affaires en pied and Head of Mission Juan E. Dayang, Jr. presented his letter of credence as Manila’s diplomatic representative to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Hon. Othman Jerandi, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Building in Tunis, Tunisia, on 26 November 2021. The Republic of Tunisia, along with four other countries in North Africa, is under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli.
In a discussion that followed the ceremony, CDA Dayang conveyed matters related to the enhancement of the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Tunisia, particularly on economic cooperation and regional development. CDA Dayang also took the opportunity to thank the Tunisian government for its assistance in the Philippine government’s efforts to repatriate Filipinos during the height of the crisis in Libya.
In return, Minister Jerandi wished CDA Dayang success in his work as the country’s representative in the region. He assured CDA Dayang that the Tunisian MFA is ready to provide all the necessary conditions to enable him to perform his duties to the fullest. END
