CANBERRA, 17 December 2021 – The Philippine Embassy in Australia emerged as one of the finalists of the Government Best Practice Recognition (GBPR) 2021 of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).
The Embassy presented its innovation, Integrated Online Consular Service System for Appointment Scheduling, Service Delivery Monitoring, and Client Data Analytics, during the online recognition ceremony held on 17 December 2021. The Embassy was endorsed to the GBPR by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration’s Quality Management System (QMS) Unit.
In their presentation, the Embassy described the Integrated Online Consular Service System as a client-focused, public service-oriented digital platform that has transformed the way consular services are delivered. Since its official launch in October 2020, the innovative system has facilitated a total of 4,333 transactions and has made possible an end-to-end approach to the consular process. The Embassy also presented the key features of the system, including real time access to information, personnel accountability, and data generation for decision-making.
The GBPR is a program annually organized by DAP’s Productivity and Development Center “to advance the public sector productivity movement among Asian Productivity Organization member countries.”
The DFA commended the Embassy for its outstanding innovation and for representing the organization in the awarding ceremony. The distinction given to the Embassy affirms the Department’s commitment to the third pillar of the Philippine Foreign Policy - the protection of the rights and promotion of the welfare and interests of overseas Filipinos - and its proactive efforts in QMS implementation and mainstreaming.
