28 May 2014 - Dr. Nina Lim-Yuson, President of the Museo Pambata, conducted a forum entitled “Kayamanan ng Kabataan”.
on May 8 at the Embassy Social Hall in Rome.
Dr. Yuson travelled all the way from Manila to share with the Filipino community, specifically the children and their parents, practical tips on how children can be financially independent.
From learning the value of “saving” to understanding the difference between a “need” and a “want”, Dr. Yuson engaged the participants in a lively discussion.
In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Italy Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. stated that children are indeed the future of the Philippines.
“Ang sabi nga ng ating pambansang bayaning si Jose Rizal, ‘ang kabataan ang kinabukasan ng ating bayan.’ Subalit para lubos na paunlarin ng ating mga kabataan ang bayang Pilipinas, obligasyon ng lahat ng magulang na siguraduhing makapagbigay sila ng magandang hiniharap para sa kanilang mga anak,” said the Ambassador.
The Philippine Embassy in Rome, with the active engagement, support and cooperation of the Filipino community in Italy, strive to substantively contribute towards the continued empowerment of our overseas kababayans.
The Embassy expressed its gratitude to Dr. Yuson in sharing her insights on how OFWs in Italy and their children can be financially independent. END
