28 May 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua, accompanied a team of training experts when they called on Director-General Daw Maw Maw of the Training, Research and Foreign Languages Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on May 26.

The team was headed by the Director-General of the National Organizing Committee for APEC 2015, Ambassador Marciano A. Paynor, Jr.

The two sides discussed the Training on Protocol, Diplomatic Decorum and Conference Management for Myanmar Diplomats to be conducted by the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) from May 26 to 30, 2014.

Present during the call was the Philippine Embassy’s Minister and Consul General Maria Lourdes M. Salcedo, and the Foreign Service Institute’s (FSI) training experts Ms. Amarie C. Zaldivar and Ms. Dulce Amor N. Fortunado.

The training is a gesture of the commitment made by President Benigno S. Aquino III to President U Thein Sein during the latter’s visit to the Philippines from 5 to 7 December 2013. END
