MACAU SAR, 03 March 2022 – The Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR successfully conducted its 28th repatriation from Macau carrying 203 Filipinos back to the Philippines. This repatriation flight, first scheduled to land at NAIA since July 2021 after health protocols were eased for fully-vaccinated arriving passengers, brings the total number of Filipinos repatriated to 5,558 since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.

Philippine Consul General to Macau SAR Porfirio M. Mayo, Jr., led the Consulate’s Team at the airport in assisting passengers on the flight. and renewed the Consulate’s commitment to continue with its repatriation program until regular commercial flights to the Philippines resume.

 “Tuloy-tuloy po po ang Repatriation Program ng Konsulado para sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan dito sa Macau na nais nang makapiling ang kanilang pamilya sa Pilipinas,” assured Consul General Mayo.

The flight also brought home the remains of three Filipinos who died in Macau of non-COVID related causes.

Since March 2020, the Consulate has organized 28 repatriation flights that has brought home a total of 5,558 Filipinos in Macau negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
