29 May 2014 – Twenty-five (25) Filipinos from Syria will arrive today, May 29, at 3:55 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on board Emirates Airlines EK 332.
The arrival of this batch brings the total number of Filipinos repatriated from war-torn Syria to 5,361. Of this number, 2,332 were brought home through Lebanon, with the cooperation, assistance and support of the Philippine Embassy in Beirut.
The Philippine Embassy in Damascus continues to remind the Filipino community in Syria to avail of the Philippine Government’s Mandatory Repatriation Program (MRP) and to seek their help in informing other Filipinos in Syria, especially in the Damascus area, about the MRP.
The airline tickets of this batch of repatriates were provided, free of charge, by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Damascus.
