PH Ambassador to Lebanon, Lebanese Chamber of Commerce President Explore Trade, Business Matching Opportunities

BEIRUT 11 March 2022 — Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Raymond R. Balatbat paid a courtesy call on  Mr. Mohamed Choucair, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Lebanon (FCCIAL) on 09 Mach 2022 to discuss trade opportunities between the Philippines and Lebanon. Vice Consul Miko Cabatingan, Head of the Embassy’s Economic Section, also joined the meeting.

Ambassador Balatbat expressed the Embassy’s interest in promoting Philippine products in the Lebanese market as part of its economic diplomacy program. Mr. Choucair responded positively by offering to endorse Philippine products among the members of FCCIAL.

Both parties discussed plans to conclude a memorandum of understanding between the Philippine and Lebanese business chambers to facilitate a business matching mechanism that connects stakeholders in both countries.

FCCIAL is the national umbrella of four regional chambers of commerce, industry, and agriculture in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, Saida and the South, Tripoli and the North, and Zahle and Bekaa. END
