PRAGUE 21 March 2022 — The Philippines won second place in the category “The Most Impressive Exposition up to 25 sq.m.” at Holiday World and Region World 2022 at the PVA Expo Praha on 18 March 2022.
Philippine Chargé d’affaires, a.i. to Czech Republic Indhira C. Bañares, who received the award from Trade Fair Manager Ms. Micaela Volna and Director Janica Ciglianova, stated that the award was unexpected, but a beautiful and wonderful surprise.
In support of the re-opening of the tourism sector in the Philippines, after closing its borders to non-essential travel due to the global health pandemic for about two years, the Embassy of the Philippines in Prague joined the biggest tourism exhibition and trade fair in the Czech Republic with the “It’s more fun with you” campaign.
The Embassy worked with the Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines in coming up with the booth’s design that appeals to the sense of adventure and passion for nature of Czech citizens.
According to the fair organizers, there are currently 227 exhibitors from 21 countries participating this year – a good turnout despite the decrease in the number of exhibitors from the last exhibition in 2020 and after the two-year suspension of all public activities due to the health pandemic.
This is the second time that the Embassy of the Philippines participated in the said fair. END
