PH Consul General to Jeddah Calls On the Governor of Madinah, Expresses Gratitude for Support to Filipinos

JEDDAH 23 March 2022 – Philippine Consul General to Jeddah Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Madinah, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on 21 March 2022.

During the call, Consul General Auxilian expressed his gratitude for the support and protection given by the Saudi government to the Filipinos and other residents in Madinah, especially in ensuring their safety and security amid the pandemic. The nationwide vaccination program of the Saudi government, which extends even to non-Saudi nationals based in the Kingdom, have protected Filipinos from COVID-19.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal, likewise, recognized the invaluable contribution of Filipino workers, particularly the healthcare workers in the Kingdom especially during the health crisis brought about by the pandemic.

There are an estimated 59,911 Filipinos based in the Madinah Region, comprising 27.84 per cent of the total 215,182 Filipinos in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. END
