Secretary Locsin Holds Bilateral Talks with Moroccan Foreign Minister Bourita and Head of Government Akhannouch
RABAT 23 March 2022 — Upon the invitation of Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. undertook an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on 17 March 2022, where both Ministers reaffirmed interest to enhance opportunities for cooperation between the Philippines and Morocco.
The bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Bourita was followed by the 2nd Philippines-Morocco Political Consultations which served as an opportunity to exchange views on issues that are of common interest to the Philippines and Morocco and a testament to the increasing momentum between the two countries as they celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties in 2025.
Joining Secretary Locsin in the meetings are Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, Ambassador Leslie J. Baja, Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs Alfonso A. Ver, and Director for Africa Division Jennifer D. Dingal. END
