IT-BPO Industry Gets Promotional Boost in Southern California

LOS ANGELES 04 April 2022 – In support of promoting the country’s capabilities in providing healthcare information management systems and IT services in the healthcare sector, the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Trade Investment Center in Los Angeles jointly arranged a series of business meetings from 23 to 25 March 2022 for the Los Angeles leg of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Healthcare Information Management System-Business Processing Management (HIMS-BPM) Roadshow.
The delegation, composed of six PHL HIMS-BPM companies, was led by DTI Undersecretary for Competitiveness and Innovation Group Rafaelita M. Aldaba. They were joined by Consul General Edgar B. Badajos, Consul Maynard S. Maleon, Trade Commissioner Eric C. Elnar and Information Officer Mary Grace D. Leañ during the meetings.
One of the Roadshow’s highlights was the business-to-business networking and economic briefing held on 24 March 2022 in Woodland Hills, CA. The event was opened with remarks from Consul General Badajos, who encouraged healthcare facility owners to either start operating in the Philippines and/or to avail of the services being offered by HIMS-BPM companies present.
The Consul General further noted, “the Philippines has become a global leader in the IT-BPM sector and remains at the forefront of voice and non-voice BMP and other IT services.”

Prior to the arrival of the delegation in Los Angeles, they attended the HIMS Conference in Orlando, FL and also met with healthcare businesses in San Francisco, CA.
