PH Ambassador to Vietnam Receives Rice Donation for the Victims of Typhoon Rai from the Vietnamese Government

HANOI 04 April 2020, Hanoi – Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Meynardo LB. Montealegre formally received from the Government of Vietnam a donation of 200 Tons of Rice for the Victims of Typhoon Rai (codename typhoon Odette) at a handover ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 01 April 2022. The Vietnamese side was represented by Ms. Nguyen Min Hang, Assistant to the Foreign Minister of Vietnam and Director General of the Department of Economic Affairs.
On behalf of the Philippine Government, Ambassador Montealegre extended his sincere appreciation to the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the donation, as well as to Vietnamese businessman Mr. Jonathan Hanh Nguyen for his support in facilitating the transport of said donations to the port of Cebu.
In their respective remarks, both sides highlighted the close friendly relations and strategic partnership between the two countries that manifest closely in their assistance in times of need. END
