PH Embassy in Israel Conducts Final Testing and Sealing for 2022 National Elections
TEL AVIV 11 April 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Israel announced the successful conduct of the Final Testing and Sealing (FTS) of its Vote Counting Machine (VCM) and other election equipment, which took place in the presence of Filipino media and accredited poll watchers from various political parties.
Vice Consul Teri Bautista, who chairs the Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) for Israel, announced the start of the FTS at 7:00 p.m. on 05 April and declared it concluded at 8:20 a.m. on 06 April 2022.
Philippine Ambassador to Israel Macairog Alberto thanked the Filipino community members who came to the Embassy to participate in the FTS, saying that their efforts were invaluable in ensuring the clean and fair conduct of overseas elections for Filipinos in Israel.
"Kabalikat po namin kayo sa pagtawid ng malinis at maayos na halalan," the envoy said. “Salamat po sa itinalaga niyong panahon at pagod para samahan kaming siguraduhin na handa na ang lahat ng gamit at proseso para sa unang araw ng pagboto sa 10 April.” (You are our partners in implementing a fair and orderly election process. Thank you for the time and effort you shared with us to make sure that our election equipment and processes are ready for the first day of voting on 10 April.)
Overseas voting for Filipinos based in Israel will officially start at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, 10 April, and continue until the close of elections at 2:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. Philippine time) on Monday, 9 May 2022. The Embassy shall remain open daily, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., throughout said period to receive overseas Filipino voters.
Registered Filipino voters in Israel and registered Filipino voters who are seafarers are reminded to bring their valid Philippine passport or Philippine dual citizenship papers (Oath of Allegiance, Certificate of Identity, and Order of Approval) or Philippine seaman’s book.
