PH Embassy in Iran Kicks Off Overseas Voting

TEHRAN 17 April 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Iran opened the month-long Overseas Voting for the 2022 National and Local Elections at 8:00 AM on 10 April 2022.

Philippine Chargé d’affaires, a.i. to Iran Roberto G. Manalo welcomed the Embassy’s first voter from Iran who cast his vote at the Embassy on the first day of the voting period.  “The Embassy personnel underwent virtual training with COMELEC and held a simulation workshop in order to ensure smooth overseas voting for our kababayans in the next 30 days,” CDA Manalo said.

“Casting my vote is a duty to my country. I registered last year because I want to be part of selecting our future leaders even if I’m out of the Philippines,” said the first Filipino voter received by the Embassy.

Overseas voting period in the Embassy runs from 10 April 2022, 8:00 AM Tehran time to 09 May 2022, 3:30 PM Tehran time or 7:00 PM Manila time. END
