CALGARY 22 April 2022 – The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary completed the mailing of 15,867 ballots to registered overseas voters in Alberta and Saskatchewan on 19 April 2022,  for the ongoing overseas voting process of the 2022 Philippine National and Local Elections.

After the PCG’s receipt of the postal ballots from COMELEC in the afternoon of 7 April 2022, the PCG immediately sorted, recorded, and stamped the ballots.  The ballots were then mailed on a staggered basis.

“We call on our registered overseas voters to immediately accomplish their ballots once they receive them by mail and for them to either mail them back to our office or personally deliver them,”  said  Consul General Zaldy Patron.

The PCG will accept mailed ballots that will be delivered to the PCG until 6 May, Friday, and the personally delivered ballots until 8 May, Sunday.  The PCG is open on weekdays and weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to receive personally delivered ballots.

The PCG’s Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) will start counting the ballots on 9 May, Monday, at 5:00 a.m., simultaneous with the counting of the ballots in the Philippines.
