Mobile Voting and Consular Outreach Mission Conducted for Filipinos in Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR 02 May 2022 — The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, conducted Mobile Voting and Consular Outreach Mission at the Dewan Masyarakat Sandakan in Sandakan, Sabah, from 25 to 29 April 2022.

In its Public Advisory, the Embassy announced to the registered voters in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan that they may cast their votes for the 2022 National Elections through the Mobile Voting in Sandakan, Sabah. Those who intend to vote were also advised to do an online pre-verification of their names in the Certified List of Voters (CLOV) to receive guidance on casting their votes and avoiding the long queue during the mobile voting. Several registered voters from Sandakan, Kota Kinabalu, and Keningau, Sabah arrived at the Dewan Masyarakat Sandakan to cast their votes.

Aside from the Mobile Voting, the Embassy also rendered consular services to Filipinos in Sabah. The Embassy team processed more than 1,000 applications for passport renewal, birth registration, notarial, and travel documents.

In accordance with the recommendation of the Sabah authorities, the Embassy has continued to implement the appointment system for consular outreach missions and the observance of health and safety protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

The schedules for the Embassy’s next consular outreach mission, including the re- opening of its appointment system for the said mission, will be announced by the Embassy in due course. END
