PH Embassy in Moscow Travels to the Russian Far East for Consular, Overseas Voting Mission

MOSCOW 06 May 2022 – Covering the country with the largest land mass in the world, the Philippine Embassy in Moscow’s mission team crossed seven time zones to bring vital Consular and Mobile Overseas Voting Services to the Filipinos living in Vladivostok, Russia on 04 May 2022.
During the mission, 18 overseas voters received, accomplished, and submitted their ballots. One Special Power of Attorney was released while 15 OFs received their OWWA IDs. Post’s Head of Assistance to Nationals also gave consultations on labor and consular concerns. Roughly 30 OFs visited the outreach mission venue.
“This is the third mission that the Embassy has conducted during the month-long overseas voting period. Vladivostok is Russia’s gateway to the east. It is so much closer to the Philippines and certainly an attractive port of commerce and tourism. We hope to empower our entire Filipino Community in Russia spread all across Russia’s European and Asian fronts, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok”, remarked Philippine Ambassador to Russia Igor G. Bailen.
Third Secretary and Vice Consul Catherine Alpay and Attaché Joyce Sychangco, with the able support of Ms. Olga Rudenko, Consular Assistant to Consul a.h. Vadim Vetolskiy spearheaded the held the Consular and Mobile Voting outreach mission at the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Vladivostok.
Vladivostok, capital city of the Primorsky Krai, has a rich history of international maritime trade that continues to this day. It is a crucial trading port for produce from the east, including Southeast Asia, entering the Russian and Eurasian markets. END
