PH Consulate General in Manado Conducts Field Votings and Mobile Voting

MANADO 12 May 2022 — Two teams from the Philippine Consulate General in Manado conducted a total of two field voting missions and one mobile voting mission to enable registered Filipino voters in its jurisdiction who live far from the Consulate to vote in the 2022 National Elections.
The first team composed of Johairah A. Lomondot and Carlo A. Pinero conducted field voting in Mimika Regency, Papua Province on 06 May 2022 and mobile voting in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province on 08 May 2022. The Filipinos in Mimika Regency work at PT Freeport Indonesia, one of the world's leading mining companies. The team traveled by plane and then joined a 30-vehicle logistics convoy that went up nearly 2,000 meters to reach the Filipino miners in the mountains.
The second team composed of Vice Consul Manuel C. Ayap and J. Lawrence R. Deus conducted field voting in Tangguh, West Papua Province on 07 May 2022. The team traveled by commercial and chartered planes and then by ferry to reach Filipinos who are helping build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in the dense and isolated forests of Tangguh.
Many of the voters expressed appreciation for the opportunity to vote in this year’s elections. END
