PH Ambassador, Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam Discuss Enhancing Person-to-Person Exchanges in Culture, Sports

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 25 May 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam, in a Royal audience on 25 May 2022 at the Qashr Al-Meezaan.

During the call, Ambassador Tirol-Ignacio thanked His Royal Highness for the warm hospitality and support of the Government of Brunei Darussalam to the Filipino Community in the country. They discussed the importance of enhancing person-to-person ties and looked forward to increasing person to person exchanges between the Philippines and Brunei, including in culture and sports.

The Ambassador further conveyed her deepest gratitude to Brunei for the support the country provides to around 20,000 Filipinos in Brunei, especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

His Royal Highness acknowledged the contributions of the Filipino community to Brunei's economic development through the years, and expressed hope for the further strengthening of bilateral relations. END
