Mexico PE Celebrates National Heritage Month 

In observance of the 2022 National Heritage Month Celebration with this year’s theme “PAMANANG LOKAL: Binhi ng Kulturang Pilipino’”, the Philippine Embassy in Mexico organized activities which highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting local heritage within a community and its impact in shaping Filipino cultural identity. To kick off the celebration, the Embassy organized a film showing of “Deds na si Lolo” (Grandpa is dead) on 14 May 2022 at the embassy lobby ( bottom right) with some members of the Filipino community in Mexico. The Embassy also hosted the first ever Larong Pinoy on 21 May 2022 which provided an opportunity to some members of the Filipino community in Mexico to relive their childhood through famous Filipino games such as Piko (top photo) and Patintero ( bottom left), is one of the most popular Filipino outdoor games also known as harangang-taga or tubigan.
