5 Distressed Filipinos Return to the Philippines through the Repatriation Program of the PH Embassy in Bahrain

MANAMA 10 June 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, successfully repatriated five distressed Filipinos from Manama to Manila via Gulf Air’s direct commercial flight on 05 June 2022.
The Philippine Embassy facilitated the repatriation and shouldered the airfare of the 5 repatriates through the Assistance-to-Nationals Funds of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The repatriates consisted of overstaying overseas Filipinos, including a mother and son who have overstayed in the Kingdom of Bahrain for several years, and a detainee.
The Embassy coordinated with OWWA and other relevant government agencies on the assistance to the repatriates upon their arrival in Manila.
The Embassy acknowledges and thanks the Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs and Immigration officials of the Kingdom of Bahrain for their support and cooperation in facilitating the successful repatriation of the 5 Filipinos.
The Embassy continues to provide assistance to distressed Filipinos in Bahrain, including repatriation when needed. END
