PH Embassy, PH Overseas Labor Office Recognize Contributions of Filipino Migrant Workers in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR 11 June 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur celebrated the 2022 Migrant Workers’ Day with the Filipino community in a seminar and thanksgiving gathering at the Impiana Hotel, KL.

Entitled “Kabayan, Sa Galing at Sakripisyo Mo, Nakabangon ang Mundo”, the event was organized by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Kuala Lumpur for the Filipino Migrant Workers from all parts of Malaysia. Over 60 FilCom leaders and members attended the event.

Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Charles C. Jose delivered an inspirational message where he highlighted the relevance of commemorating Migrant Workers’ Day. He also reaffirmed the Embassy and its attached agencies’ dedication to prioritize the needs and the welfare of our OFWs in Malaysia.

A seminar on Conflict Management in Organization was also conducted by Police Attaché Ferlu Silvio for the Filipino Community leaders in attendance.

Annually, June 07 is recognized as National Migrant Workers’ Day pursuant to Republic Act No. 8042, or the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995. On this day, the Philippines celebrates the contribution of Filipino migrant workers who are considered modern-day heroes. END
