               PH Embassy in Manama Sends Home 11 Distressed Filipinos

MANAMA 01 July 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama successfully repatriated 11 distressed Filipinos on 27 June 2022 via Gulf Air’s commercial flight. The repatriates, which included an OFW from the Embassy’s shelter and overstaying OFs and minors, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila on 28 June 2022..

The Philippine Embassy shouldered the airfare of the repatriates through the Assistance-to-Nationals Funds of the Department of Foreign Affairs and facilitated the issuance of the repatriates’ exit permits.

The repatriates expressed their gratitude to the Philippine Embassy, especially to the Embassy’s ATN officers who handled their cases. “Gusto ko pong sabihin sir sa inyo at sa bumubuo po ng ating Embahada na lubos po kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng suporta po ninyo para sa amin ng pamilya ko. Sana po marami pang matulungan ang ating Embahada na tulad naming pangangailangan. God bless po sa lahat sir,” shared by one of the repatriates.

The Embassy, likewise, acknowledged the assistance extended by the National, Passport and Residence Affairs and Immigration officials of the Kingdom of Bahrain in facilitating the repatriation of the 11 OFs. END
