PH Ambassador Garcia Visits South Centre, Affirms New Administration’s Commitment toward Reform Agenda for Development

GENEVA 08 July 2022 – Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva Evan P. Garcia visited the South Centre today to reaffirm the Philippines’ support for the said organization on 05 July 2022.
South Centre Executive Director Carlos Maria Correa welcomed Ambassador Garcia and briefed him on the Centre’s work on issues ranging from discussions regarding the right to development to the negotiation of the pandemic treaty.
Ambassador Garcia reiterated the Philippines’ commitment to the reform agenda and to the cause of developing countries, which he said will continue under the new administration of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
Established in 1995, South Centre is a Geneva-based intergovernmental organization established by developing countries to support them in advancing the cause of development across the multilateral sphere. END
